Joint Fundraising Association Emergency Activity Support Grant for Individuals Who Have Lost Their Place - 7th Project Report

Akai Hane Support Campaign for Welfare Activities in the Post-Corona Society: We are pleased to announce the publication of our activity report following the grant received for the "Emergency Support Activities for Those Who Have Lost Their Place (7th Round)". The grant period runs from October 2023 to the end of March 2024.

Currently, there are over 3 million foreigners living in Japan, facing various anxieties and difficulties related to language, social culture, lifestyle, and systems. The challenges of integrating into Japanese communities further deepen their sense of isolation.
JII's activities go beyond just supporting foreign residents. Japanese volunteers in each community, known as Otonari-san, build genuine trust with foreign residents, helping them feel secure and integrate into Japanese society as approachable advisors and friends. Our efforts are steadily creating third places where residents can support one another.
For those who have just arrived in Japan and cannot speak Japanese, children of foreign roots who were born and raised in Japan, children who came to Japan due to their parents' circumstances, foreign mothers experiencing pregnancy and childbirth for the first time in Japan, and refugees or displaced persons who have fled to Japan. Our activities aim to transform their unfamiliar, lonely, and anxious lives into something enjoyable and filled with kindness, alongside supportive neighbors like Otonari-san.
We sincerely thank the members of the Community Chest for supporting our activities. Thanks to the support of everyone, OFP has been able to grow gradually and move towards realizing a society where diversity, including foreigners, is valued. Thank you very much. We look forward to your continued support.
