[Now Accepting Applications] 🌸 Hanamaru Class 🌸 (Learning Support for Children with Foreign Roots) is starting!

In response to requests from foreign participants in the OFP, JII will launch the "Hanamaru Class" to support children with foreign roots in their learning, including Japanese language education!

In the 🌸 Hanamaru Class 🌸, you will work together with Japanese volunteers...
✔ You can practice Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji
✔ I can do school homework.
✔ You can ask questions about the parts you don't understand in your studies.
✔ Learn in a clear and easy-to-understand way

Children of foreign descent attending schools in Japan,
To support children in acquiring the essential skills they need before starting elementary school,
Strengthening the fundamentals from the early years of elementary school,
This is the goal of the class.

We also hold original craft workshops once a month!

We also have snacks and tea prepared!

Class Overview
・Target Audience: Children with foreign roots (ages 5 to about 4th grade)
　　 　* For the first visit, please have a parent or guardian accompany you for registration.
　　　 * Children attending international schools are also welcome to participate.
　　 　* Anyone can participate, even if they are not an OFP member.
・Event Date and Time: Twice a month on Saturdays
・Location: Tokushinkai Kobushien Social Welfare Corporation (6-18-2 Shimomeguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo)*Facility Website
- Items to bring: writing tools, study materials, homework, drills, etc.
・Participation Fee: $5 per session (discounts available)
・Capacity: 8 people / session (first-come, first-served)

Main Programs
We provide support in small groups, such as one-on-one sessions, tailored to the child's age and learning level.

・Preschoolers: Get familiar with Japanese through enjoyable activities such as practicing writing hiragana and katakana, playing karuta games, and singing songs for Japanese language learning.
・For elementary school students and above: Please bring any study materials you would like to work on, such as school homework.

Considering children's attention spans, we allocate about 40 minutes of learning time per person. Please arrive during the scheduled time.
