Expand the Circle of Support - Free OFP Registration Campaign

As autumn deepens, many of us may start reflecting on the year and thinking about new challenges ahead. For those looking to start something new in the coming year, we have some exciting news!

It has been 3 years and 9 months since we launched the Otonari-san Family Friend Program (OFP). Through our activities, we have encountered many "Otonari-san volunteers who want to engage with foreign residents but lack the channels to do so" and "foreign residents living in Japan who are unable to connect deeply with Japanese people and face challenges and uncertainties."
OFP has achieved significant results in areas that are often overlooked by government and businesses, such as solving everyday challenges, partnering in Japanese language learning, and building invaluable friendships between both parties.

In order to reach more people with the activities of the Otonari-san Family Friend Program (OFP) and encourage easy participation, we invite those who attend the "Otonari-san Family Friend Program Information Session" taking place from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025."Let's Expand the Circle of Support - Free OFP Registration Campaign"will be implemented!

■ Recommended for the following people

Japanese Volunteers
・I am interested in foreign residents, but I don't know how to engage with them.
・I want to connect with and support foreign residents
・I want to interact with foreign residents on a daily basis and deepen my understanding of foreign cultures.
・I want to enhance and make use of my language skills through support

Foreign Residents
・I am raising children, but I want reliable parenting information that suits my needs.
・I want Japanese mom and dad friends that I can easily talk to
・I often encounter issues and would like help with procedures in Japanese.
I want to improve my Japanese, but I don't have a casual conversation partner who is Japanese.
・I want to make friends with Japanese people outside of school and work.
・I want to learn more about Japanese society and culture

■ Campaign Details & Duration
For those participating in the OFP briefing sessions from November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, the registration fee (normally 1,000 yen) will be waived.
