A special opportunity for those interested in theater and artistic expression!
JII is excited to announce that we are collaborating with the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre to recruit guest participants for a community-driven theater workshop taking place on November 4th.
At the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, we offer a "Theater Coordinator Training Course" aimed at cultivating professionals who connect theater and society. From October 28 to November 4, we will welcome Anna Beata Schmutz, the Artistic Director of the Citizen Ensemble at the Mannheim National Theatre in Germany, for a workshop and lecture titled "Revisiting 'Us' - Living Together with Citizens through Theater Creation," where participants will learn about the theory and practice of creating works with people from diverse backgrounds.
*Course Details: https://www.geigeki.jp/performance/event329/
On the final day of the course, November 4th, the workshop will bring together guest participants and aspiring theater coordinators who have taken the training course. Together, we will create a play based on the concept of "Home," using the feelings and experiences of foreigners living in Japan as our inspiration.
Whether you're interested in theater and artistic expression or have never had the chance to engage with it but want to express your own experiences and think it sounds interesting, we encourage you to apply!
The workshop will be led by Director Beata and will include Japanese translation. If you find it difficult to communicate in Japanese, please invite a partner or consult with JII (we will assign someone who can translate). Those who can speak Japanese are welcome to participate alone.
If you have an Otonari-san pair and wish to participate, Japanese individuals can join as well, so please invite your pair and participate together.

This event is part of the Tokyo Arts Theater's "Theater Curator Training Program," aimed at cultivating talent that can closely integrate performing arts with civil society. At the end of the training, participants will collaborate with guests from diverse backgrounds to create art.
